EXACT- GST
Goods and Services Tax (GST) is an indirect tax levied in India on the supply of goods and services. It came into effect from July 1, 2017 through the implementation of One Hundred and First Amendment of the Constitution of India by the Indian government.
The tax replaced existing multiple cascading taxes levied by the central and state governments.
The GSTN visualized an ecosystem that not only makes taxation more transparent for the administration, but also makes returns filing more convenient for taxpayers with the changing structure.
As a GST service provider who helps the taxpayer to comply with the provisions of the GST law through its web platform, Excellon Software introduced EXACT Solution which helps Enterprises automate their GST compliance activities. EXACT Solution acts as a conduit between taxpayer systems and GSTN systems providing seamless, uninterrupted connectivity.
THE CHALLENGE
Migrating to GST had multi-faceted challenges. While the tax-filing processes had to accommodate the different requirements of all the industries, it needed to be robust for all kinds and sizes of businesses, handle the volume the businesses will present, while at the same time need to be uniform and simple for the end user.
MY ROLE
I was involved in user research and building UX strategy, and was responsible for designing the web version of B2B and B2C of GST.
